Clubs are a great way to build friendships, to have fun, and to grow in the practice of student leadership, which is a hallmark of the Northridge experience.

Northridge Drama Club offers students the opportunity to perform in upwards of two shows a year. In a typical year, we have a play in the Fall and a musical in the Spring. Our on-stage actors act, sing, learn choreography, and more! Drama also offers the unique opportunity to gain hands-on technical, logistical, and carpentry experience as part of our stage crew.

Food club helps fellow students develop their culinary skills. With hands-on demonstrations and activities, we’ll learn how history has helped shape cuisines from around the world. We plan to meet twice a month to make a variety of dishes together!

The Northridge Men’s Chorus performs in concerts, at basketball games, Dinner at the Ridge, and other large events. More than just an a cappella group, members learn to perform traditional and contemporary pieces. Men’s Chorus is a credit-earning class that meets before school two days per week and at lunch one day a week.

Club leaders put on events that allow students to develop an interest in careers ranging from biological research to medicine through hands-on experiments, presentations from healthcare professionals, and attendance at biomedical conferences.

The goal of this club is to cultivate and foster interest in Phytology and Entomology and even Ornithology among Northridge students. Club members organize and promote events including local restoration projects and field trips to nearby natural sites.

Northridge’s Math Team competes in the regional and state ICTM math competitions. Students compete in individual events (Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and PreCalculus) and team events (Freshman-Sophomore, Junior-Senior, Calculator, and Oral). Historically, NRP has placed in the top 7, of 40-50 teams, in our division at the state level.

The Quiz Bowl team competes in the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Scholastic Bowl program, an academic competition that challenges students’ knowledge across subjects such as history, literature, science, mathematics, and current events. Team members work collaboratively and think quickly under pressure, developing both intellectual confidence and teamwork. In spring 2025, the team earned a third-place finish at the IHSA State Scholastic Bowl Tournament in just its second year of competition.

Allows students to explore careers in zoology, ethology, and conservation biology through guest speakers, field trips, and the
hands-on care for the Northridge Zoological Society (Room 205).

The Design, Build, Fly Club is for students who are interested in designing, building, and flying remote-controlled aircraft. Using lightweight foam, members will learn valuable engineering and basic electrical skills while having fun building and testing their innovative designs.

Engineering Club is an opportunity for students to explore the discipline of professional engineering through various projects, speakers, hands on activities and discussion.

The Northridge Robotics Team, the Knight Owls, works to build and code a robot for competing in the competitive FIRST Tech Challenge. Success in this competition requires the boys to cooperate effectively and promotes developing skills in teamwork, brainstorming, coding, manufacturing, and design.

The American Rocketry Challenge (TARC) is a national tournament where Northridge competes with more than 5,000 students from about 750 teams for $100,000 in cash prizes! One of the premier STEM activities in the United States, universities like Notre Dame, Stanford, MIT, UCLA and Cal have college-level versions of rocket teams that compete as well.

Northridge Bass Fishing Club helps students hone skills to excel in the sport, promote environmental stewardship, and offer opportunities to participate in excursions and tournaments. Through teamwork, we aim to cultivate passionate anglers!

The Northridge Boxing Club provides students with the opportunity to grow in confidence and self-esteem, learning boxing skills and techniques for the purpose of being able to defend themselves and to be able to protect others, if necessary. Each year, they host a Boxing Night, an evening of friendly boxing matches between club members.

Pickleball Club is a casual intramural sport for players of all skill levels that hosts games, open plays, and tournaments. No gear or skill is required to join and start playing.

The Northridge Ping Pong Club promotes table tennis by managing equipment, setting up and closing open-play sessions, and organizing tournaments. Members enjoy exclusive after-school access to a table and are responsible for running three open-play sessions per week.

Sea Scouts is a club sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America, and our ship is generously provided by the Chicago Yacht Club. It is a co-ed, youth-led program where members learn leadership, stewardship, and self-reliance through maritime and nautical education. No past boating experience is required!

Ski Club allows students to make the most of Winter by doing the most enjoyable snow sport! Beginning or experienced students are welcome to join the club where we will plan 3-4 ski excursions to a local slope on a Saturday during the season. Transport will be provided, but students will need to bring or rent their own clothing and equipment.

A long-standing Northridge tradition, the Northridge Bears club brings together fans of Chicago’s own NFL Football team to talk about games, players, and all things related to the team. Bear down, Chicago Bears!

The Northridge Investment Club seeks to educate students on the principles of stocks, bonds, cryptocurrencies, and other investments through lectures, trading, guest speakers, and more.

The Northridge Media Club creates original news and content that is posted to our school website, the weekly Knightly News e-letter and more. Students capture the life of Northridge through photography, article writing, and filmmaking. Students produce and share fun and creative stories, and build their own portfolio that will add value to their college applications.

The Northridge Polish Club is a great way to immerse yourself into Polish culture, history, politics, and cuisine. Students will discuss current and historical events, eat Polish food, watch Polish sports, and more! All are welcome.

Service Club members lead and promote service opportunities within our community, with regular visits to local nursing homes and unique group service activities each month. Members also plan and promote two signature events; Game Night in the Fall Semester and Trivia Night in Spring. Each event draws more than 100 students from schools across the suburbs, with all proceeds donated to causes that members are passionate about supporting. Through these efforts, Service Club fosters leadership, teamwork, and a culture of service that extends beyond campus.
