Being a Knight for a Day

All students interested in attending Northridge beginning in 2022-23 or 2023-24 are welcome to visit starting in September of this year. During a shadow day, we’ll assign your son a Student Ambassador as his guide, who will accompany him the entire day. Some highlights? Taking time to meet teachers, gym class, and being free to be yourself and have fun!

Start the Application

Typically applications take 2 weeks to complete, and include the submission of transcripts and records, a teacher recommendation, and the family interview. If you have any questions or need help with the application, please contact Joseph Egan '15, jegan@northridgeprep.org, (847) 375-0600 ext. 446.

Tell Us About Your Academic Progress

After you’ve submitted your online application and paid the fee, you’ll have access to the Transcript & Records Request Form, and have the ability to send the letter of recommendation to your son’s teacher.

Deliver the Transcript & Records Request Form to your son’s current school. We’ll need this form to access your son’s formal records from his current school. Print out the request form, fill it out, and deliver this request form to your son’s current school.

The Letter of Recommendation should come from a teacher or administrator at your son’s current school. Only one recommendation is required. The teacher recommendation may be requested, completed, and submitted online using the admissions parent portal.

Get to Know Us!

The final step of the application will be for the applicant and both of his parents to come in for a brief interview with the Director of Admissions. In addition, all applicants will complete a short writing prompt during the Student & Parent Interview. No preparation is necessary for the writing prompt. This interview is required and typically lasts about 45 minutes.

The Student & Parent Interview can be scheduled online in the parent portal, or by contacting Northridge at (847) 375-0600. You can schedule the interview before all your application documents are uploaded; however, we will reach out to you to reschedule if we do not have all the required materials two days before the scheduled interview date. Note: An entrance exam is not part of our application process; we have found that it does not add additional value.
