Julian earned his B.B.A. from the University of Michigan and his M.B.A. and M.S.T. from DePaul University. He is also a CPA. He worked in the finance and accounting industry for thirty-nine years, including at Wilson Sporting Goods, Keebler Foods Company, and Bosch, where he was a Business Unit Controller.

Julian is a certified USATF coach and has competed in over 200 triathlons, sixteen Ironman races, and numerous road races from 5K to marathons. He is the founder and coach of the Sauganash Striders, one of the top running clubs in Chicago’s northwest suburbs, and has trained multiple champions at the middle school, high school, and national levels.

In 2024, as Head Coach of the Cross Country team, Julian brought Northridge its first-ever State Championship. He also teaches High School Math and serves as Head Coach for the Track team. He and his wife, Kathy, have three children.
