At Easter 2017, Shane and his wife Teresa (along with their children) celebrated their reception into the Catholic Church.

Next year Shane will teach 7th Grade History and 8th Grade English, and help with our Woodworking club and Drama productions.

Mr. Joe Egan ’15

Admissions Director.

During his time at Northridge, Mr. Egan (class of 2015) was the founder of the Northridge acapella group, led Cavalier Hall, and was a four time all-conference golfer. He continued his education and golf career at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester Massachusetts, where he studied psychology, business, and religion. During college Joe founded a student startup incubator and set numerous records on their Division 1 golf team, where he rose to Captain and was named to the All American Scholar Team. During and after college, Mr. Egan worked as an account executive for Ogilvy & Mather, a marketing consulting/advertising agency. There, he worked on accounts like IBM, Nationwide, Country Crock, and most recently SC Jonhson.

In his free time, Joe enjoys spending time outdoors playing any kind of sport, as long as it’s golf.

Joe brings strong advertising and sales experience, a love of Northridge, and importantly, a knowledge of the kind of students and families who will be successful at Northridge. We are fortunate to have a man of his professional caliber and knowledge of the school taking over this important role. Mr. Egan will also assist in coaching our Golf Team.

Mr. Andre Mendoza

Latin & Strings.

Mr. Mendoza just graduated from Princeton University, where he majored in Classics and minored in Medieval Studies and also in Math. His Senior Thesis (over over 100 pages) focused on the methods for teaching spoken Latin in the classroom. In the summer of 2019 Mr. Mendoza attended the Academia Vivarium Novum, a school situated in the outskirts of Rome, where he learned to speak Latin and Greek. While at Princeton, Mr. Mendoza wrote about social and political issues for the campus newspaper, was an active member of the Aquinas Institute for Catholic Life, played the Cello, and started a choir.

Andre enjoys playing violin and Spanish guitar, listening to music, cooking, hiking, and reading.

In Andre’s sample class to our seventh graders, he taught entirely in spoken Latin … and the boys loved it. Next year Andre will teach 8th and 9th Grades Latin and lead a new for-credit class: Strings Ensemble. We’re looking forward to his contributions.

Mr. Joel Sacris ’16

Chemistry & Computer Coding.

During his time at Northridge, Mr. Sacris was a part of the Pep/Jazz Band, Varsity Soccer Team, and competitive Math Team. He went on to continue his education at Saint Louis University in Missouri, where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. During college, Mr. Sacris engaged in research to develop a cushion to reduce deep tissue injuries in individuals with spinal cord injuries. Some of his favorite projects include advising a non-profit on the establishment of its foreign arm in Haiti, assisting in the development of a neurosurgical device through the National Science Foundation’s I-Corps program, and constructing aviation mission computers for the Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet. Mr. Sacris is also a budding entrepreneur, having co-founded a startup intent on using data analytics to prevent hearing loss in manufacturing employees.

Next year Mr. Sacris will be teaching Chemistry and Computer Coding. We’re excited to be offering Computer Coding, an important component of a robust curriculum.
