Introductory Flight Camp
“Man must rise above the Earth – to the top of the atmosphere and beyond – for only thus will he fully understand the world in which he lives.” – Socrates
There are few better ways to learn about the laws of physics that govern our universe than by studying flight. From commercial aircraft to fighter jets to rockets and satellites, the world of flight is filled with the spirit of scientific adventure. In one week, campers will capture that spirit through hands on lessons and a design-build-test approach.
In Introductory Flight Camp, campers will build gliders, long-distance slingshots, and parachutes to learn important concepts like the scientific method, gravitational force and air resistance. Their introduction to the study of flight will culminate with the building and launching of their own model rocket.
