ADVANCED COMPUTER CODING
• Moderator: Rich Rodríguez
• Level: Sophomore, Junior, Senior
• Days: Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday
Advanced Computer Coding is the second activity in the 2-part programming sequence. It will be taught/moderated by Mr. Rodriguez (MS Statistics, programming experience in Python & R) with occasional input from previous students. The objective is to learn enough Java to take the AP Computer Science A exam.
Practice outside of the course is strongly encouraged, and there will be periodic take-home tests to assess understanding; however, since this is not a graded course, the instructor insists that students prioritize their normal classes over this activity. Students who do not demonstrate a reasonably sustained level of achievement and/or enthusiasm may be dropped from the activity at the discretion of the instructor.
Prerequisite: Completion of Intro to Computer Coding (2016-2017), OR substantial prior experience with programming [Check with moderator for assessment].
Computer Coding students should NOT commit to any other clubs during Activity Period since this club meets all four days.
