Northridge Chess Team Update

The Knights Chess Team has been putting up notable performances over the last couple weeks at a number of virtual tournaments. Below are a couple highlights from recent competitions. Go Knights!

Niles West Face-off. Last week the Knights faced off against Niles West, losing by only 3 points.  Peter James won at Board 1, Isai Hernandez won at Board 3, Jack Carney won at Board 8, while Joaquin Hernandez also contributed points with his draw at Board 2.

Evanston Tournament. A couple weeks ago at a doubles matchup at 2-day Evanston Tournament, the Knights came away with two narrow wins in the six matches.  Notable performances at that competition included Peter James with a win and a draw in two appearances at Board 1, Joaquin Roman with three wins in six appearances at Boards 1 & 2, David Roman with three wins in six appearances at Boards 5, 6, & 8, and Marko Marovic with two wins in four appearances (his first wins with the team!) at Board 8.
