Prior to teaching at Northridge, Russell Fernandes was the Science Lead at Intrinsic Schools where he was responsible for the 11th-grade science curriculum and taught biology and several other subjects. He also spent several years teaching middle school science and math at St. Mary of the Angels parish school in Chicago. Russell lives in Skokie with his wife Elizabeth and four children. He enjoys the outdoors, especially fishing, and did a stint in culinary school.
