About Mr. Barder '93 LMFT, LCPC
Bob graduated from Northridge in 1993 and earned his B.A. from Northwestern University and his M.A. from Northeastern Illinois University. He’s a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with extensive experience working with children, adults, couples, and families.
Before returning to his alma mater, Bob spent fifteen years in the nonprofit sector at organizations including Misericordia Home, Lions Clubs International, and Midtown Educational Foundation. He’s also taught in programs across Lithuania, México, and Spain. His interest in literature and psychology has led him to teach courses at Northridge’s Parent University, including sessions on Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina and “Temperament Dynamics in Marriage and Family Life.”
Bob serves as College Counselor at Northridge, guiding students and parents through the college application process. He and his wife, Julene, have five children who attend Embers, Northridge, and Willows.
