Nicolas earned his B.A. in philosophy from the University of Notre Dame, where he centered his studies on the great books of the Western tradition, taking a special interest in the philosophy of education. He is originally from Caracas, Venezuela, but spent six years growing up in Beijing and Shanghai, China, graduating from Concordia International School Shanghai. After his university studies, Nicolas worked as a press officer for the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research in New York City, focusing on disseminating policy ideas and recommendations throughout the media, principally through editing and pitching op-ed articles to top newspapers and magazines nationwide. Nicolas enjoys learning languages (modern and ancient), playing sports, and discussing big ideas; his passion for the education and formation of young men led him to Northridge.
