About Mr. Abouchedid

Nicolas brings a unique global perspective to his teaching at Northridge. Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, he spent six years in China before graduating from Concordia International School Shanghai. He earned his B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame, where he studied the great books of the Western tradition and developed a particular interest in the philosophy of education.

Before entering the classroom, Nicolas worked as a press officer at the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research in New York City, where he specialized in editing and placing op-eds in leading national publications—experience that now influences his approach to teaching writing and rhetoric.

Nicolas joined Northridge in the fall of 2024. He teaches ninth-grade English, Intermediate Spanish, Speech & Debate, and twelfth-grade Philosophy. He also directs the Media Club, which forms part of the school’s marketing efforts, and oversees the student Ping Pong Club.
