John grew up in the Chicago suburbs, the oldest of eight children (including his twin brother). He attended Marquette University, where he Studied Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. During college, he worked in the Instructional Media Center, fabricating cabinetry for the audio and video studios. He was also sought out to build custom projects for other departments, such as podiums for hosting university events.

John came to Northridge after a career in telecommunications marketing, with roles in financial analysis, sales negotiation, product management, sales enablement, and marketing communications. He retired in 2024 after completing 25 years with AT&T Business Marketing, most recently pricing large international data networking deals for the company’s global healthcare and retail accounts.

In his free time, John enjoys spending time with his four children (two of whom currently attend Northridge) and playing guitar, pickleball, and golf.
