About Mr. Marino

Michael Marino grew up in Park Ridge, attended St. Paul of the Cross School, and commuted to St. Ignatius College Prep for high school. In 2022, he graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences, and a second major in Economics. His senior thesis assessed the soil health impacts of conservation practices on U.S. farms.

At Notre Dame, he sang and toured to Jerusalem with the Notre Dame Folk Choir where he helped record an original album of liturgical music. He spent the summer after his freshman year at Jerusalem Farm, a Catholic farming community in Kansas City, where he worked with high school students on summer service trips. He has interned with a sustainability-focused school lunch provider in Chicago managing price data, customer service, and logistics.

Michel first enjoyed teaching during college as a guest science teacher at a local elementary school. He later taught middle school science for the latter half of the 2022-2023 school year at St. Juliana School in Edison Park. He enjoys playing the piano and gardening.
