About Dr. Lothian
Jim earned his B.A. from the University of Rochester, his M.A. from Fordham University, and his Ph.D. in History from the University of Chicago. His research on the Catholic writers of twentieth-century Britain resulted in a book published by the University of Notre Dame Press in 2009.
Before joining Northridge in 2016, Jim taught at the University of Chicago, Indiana University, and Binghamton University in New York.
At Northridge, Jim teaches High School English and History. He and his wife Sheila live on the northwest side with their four children, including their eldest son, Jimmy ’25.
