About Mr. Jensen
Cory grew up in both west and north Texas, later attending and playing soccer at both St. Mary’s University (TX) and the University of Dallas, where he eventually earned a Bachelor of Arts in History. His senior thesis addressed the socio-cultural and interdenominational rivalries between two Scottish soccer clubs, Celtic FC and Glasgow Rangers FC. Later, he earned his MA in Ancient History at Cardiff University (UK), where he wrote his dissertation on the architectural identity of emperor Septimius Severus in the city of Rome.
After graduate school, he first began coaching soccer at the high school, collegiate, club, and ODP levels in North Texas, and soon thereafter began teaching AP World History, Honors US History, Government, and Honors Geography at the high school level.
A conversion to the Catholic Church followed in 2010. Subsequently relocating with his family to Chicago in 2013, he shifted to Catholic secondary education, where he taught Modern World History and AP Human Geography for nearly a decade.
He is married to Caroline Jensen (né Knorr, Willows ‘06), has four children, and still enjoys playing the beautiful game, bass, and guitar. Cory teaches seventh grade Literature and Religion, as well as twelfth grade Theology. Additionally, he serves as the Assistant Varsity Soccer Coach.
