Andre Mendoza
B.A. Princeton University
About Mr. Mendoza
Mr. Mendoza just graduated from Princeton University, where he majored in Classics and minored in Medieval Studies and also in Math. His Senior Thesis (over over 100 pages) focused on the methods for teaching spoken Latin in the classroom. In the summer of 2019 Mr. Mendoza attended the Academia Vivarium Novum, a school situated in the outskirts of Rome, where he learned to speak Latin and Greek. While at Princeton, Mr. Mendoza wrote about social and political issues for the campus newspaper, was an active member of the Aquinas Institute for Catholic Life, played the Cello, and started a choir.
Andre enjoys playing violin and Spanish guitar, listening to music, cooking, hiking, and reading.
In Andre’s sample class to our seventh graders, he taught entirely in spoken Latin … and the boys loved it. Next year Andre will teach 8th and 9th Grades Latin and lead a new for-credit class: Strings Ensemble. We’re looking forward to his contributions.
