Boys Adrift and the Collapse of Parenting
13 October, 2018 at 7:00 pm - 9:30 pmFree – $30
Today we are facing a crisis of masculinity. American boys are, on average, less motivated and less engaged today compared with American boys 20 or 30 years ago. Why? On Saturday October 13th, hear New York Times Best-Selling author Dr. Leonard Sax describe today’s growing epidemic of unmotivated boys and underachieving young men, and explain why there’s hope.
In his presentation, “Boys Adrift and the Collapse of Parenting,” Dr. Sax will present evidence regarding some of the factors which are undermining boys’ achievement. He will share concrete strategies which parents can deploy to improve the odds for their son.
Dr. Sax’s insights are drawn from his decades of research and experience as a family doctor. For example: how much time spent playing video games is too much. How do we know? How do we raise children amidst a culture of disrespect? How do we help our children be humble? Dr. Sax is also the New York Times Best-Selling author of “The Collapse of Parenting,” “Boys Adrift,” “Girls on the Edge,” and more.
