Latin 475-476: Classical Latin Literature

Elective

Course Description

In this Advanced Latin course, students will learn Latin vocabulary and grammar through partial spoken immersion and extensive reading. The intensity of the approach will give students the same mastery of Latin as is expected in modern language instruction, without sacrificing precision and rigor. The course will conclude the students’ review of Latin grammar and focus chiefly on examining unadapted selections from authors such as St. Jerome, St. Augustine, Cicero, Virgil, and others.
