LATIN 371-372: Advanced Latin Literature
Elective

Course Description
In this Advanced Latin course, students will learn Latin vocabulary and grammar through full spoken immersion and extensive reading. The intensity of the approach will give students the same mastery of Latin expected in modern language instruction without sacrificing precision and rigor. The course will begin with a systematic review of Latin grammar and the 1,800 most common words; in the latter half of the course, students will read unadapted selections from authors such as St. Augustine, St. Jerome, Catullus, Caesar, and others.
