Course Description
English as a Second Language (ESL) equips students for two-way communication in academic and everyday settings. Special focus on comprehending instructors who lecture at a native-speaker pace. The course develops listening, speaking, reading, and writing while strengthening grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation through assorted texts, conversation practice, and short presentations. Instruction emphasizes practical tasks such as note-taking, small talk on current affairs and everyday problem-solving. All levels meet together; advanced students model strategies and assist beginners. Projects rotate so returning students meet new challenges and materials. Frequent feedback and placement ensure appropriate pacing as they progress toward confident, effective interpreters of their thoughts and ideas into English.
