Course Catalog
ENG 441-442: AP English Lit. & Composition (Russian & World Classics)
Core
Course Description
In this course, which also serves as preparation for the AP English Literature and Composition exam, students will read some of the great masterworks of Western civilization, including plays, poems, essays and novels — both originating in English and other world languages. Each work will enrich students’ understanding of what it means to be human. In this course, students will also learn to read more critically, think more deeply, and speak and write more clearly and effectively. This course builds upon and helps perfect the skills students have developed already through hard work in previous courses such as the American and British literature surveys, and serves as a culmination of a student’s experience throughout the entire literature and language arts program at Northridge.
