ART 70: Intro to Art and Drawing

Course Description
Art and drawings form an important aspect of life and history. Art helps express ideas and events and can evoke emotions. It also enriches our lives and helps explain and illustrate ideas, or simply beautifies our environment. Students will study art throughout history and learn the principles of drawing by studying various epochs of art and its elements and techniques. Students will learn how to free hand draw and colorize artwork and the rudiments of hand-drawing three-dimensional shapes and figures, employing perspective, shading, and positive and negative spaces, as well as layout and composition of art work.
