Northridge Drama Club offers students the opportunity to perform in upwards of two shows a year. In a typical year, we have a play in the Fall and a musical in the Spring. This year, however, our musical will be in mid-January. Our on-stage actors do more than act, however, they also sing, learn choreography, performs swordfights, etc. Beyond the opportunity to perform on stage, Northridge Drama offers the unique opportunity to gain hands on technical, logistical, and carpentry experience as part of our stage crew, without which the show couldn't go on.

The String Ensembles meets two days a week before school, open to students with two or more years of experience playing a string instrument – violin, cello, viola or bass. Students explore works from the classical repertoire, and depending on the size of the group may be combined with some band instruments. The string ensemble performs twice a year at our annual concerts and at other events such as our annual fundraising event: Dinner at the Ridge.

The yearbook course brings together a group of student leaders who document the life of the school over the course of the year. Students take responsibility for theme, lay-out, writing, photography, graphic design, and editing of the school yearbook.
The levels of this course are taught together, and students in the more advanced levels of the course take greater responsibility for leading and directing the work of creating the yearbook.

Northridge's Debate and Model UN Team offers students the opportunity to hone their rhetorical skills via competition with other Northridge students and students at other schools at tournaments and conferences. This year, the team plans to compete both against local schools and at college-sponsored tournaments at the University of Chicago or the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN.

The American Rocketry Challenge (TARC) is a national tournament where Northridge competes with more than 5,000 students from about 750 teams across the country for $100,000 in cash prizes! One of the premier STEM activities in the United States, universities like Notre Dame, Stanford, MIT, UCLA and Cal have college level versions of rocket teams that compete as well. TARC is a great college application booster! (pun intended:)

Sea Scouts is a club promoted at Northridge and sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America, and our ship is generously provided by the Chicago Yacht Club. Sea Scouts is a co-ed youth-led program where members learn leadership, stewardship and self-reliance through maritime and nautical education. No past boating experience required, just an appetite for fun and adventure. Sea Scout Members meet monthly at the yacht club to plan the monthly activities. During the off season we learn sailing and boating techniques and requirements for advancement. We try to have at least 2 activities a month during the off season and 2-3 a week once the boating season starts.
