Battles of the Civil War proves that learning history can (and should!) be fun and exciting. Using his profuse historical knowledge, Camp Director Dr. Tom Kelliher brings history to life and gives campers an experience of the thrill of battle as only he can!
WHY BATTLES OF THE CIVIL WAR?
This camp is built around the concept of Experiential Learning and focuses on the tactics, leaders, and key battles of the Civil War. Campers bring these pivotal historical moments to life by reenacting them using hands-on activities like Nerf gun battles.. We take the first 20 students on a first-come first-served basis. Historical instruction covers topics and activities like:

Dr. Kelliher has been teaching History and Religion at Northridge for 24 years. He has a passion for teaching in energetic and fun ways. His lessons are famous for being engaging, fun, demanding, and rich in content. Camp counselors are selected for their strong characters and proven historical knowledge (all of them passed the AP US History exam with a 3 or better). They have a passion for history, and are committed to helping to spark the imaginations of younger students.
