Overview

Want a book to come alive for your son? Do you want to equip your son with the habits and tools he needs to enjoy reading? Do you desire for your son to find a book he loves to read? The Epic Book Club is here to help your son discover that words were meant to come alive by equipping them with the tools and habits they need to enjoy reading.

Why Epic Book Camp?

Help your son love to read by reading an incredible book for Boys here at Northridge with other boys. We have two Epic weeks with two different books to choose from:

Session 1
Treasure Island
Does your son love searching for buried treasure? Does he want to go on an epic adventure with swashbuckling pirates? Then come aboard, matee, with Mr. Suire, as he will show you the ropes to the first few chapters of Treasure Island, give you a copy, and trust you to finish the quest. This one of a kind adventure will be replete with thrilling nautical activities like: swordfighting, walking the plank, and cannon launching. Come relive the best scenes from the beginning of Treasure Island by Robert Luis Stevenson.

Session 2
Beowulf
Does your son love to pretend to fight monsters? Does he pretend every stick to him is not just a sword, but the sword which will slay the mighty dragon? Then, come along, young knight, and have Mr. Mendoza show you the way of the warrior at Epic Book Club: Beowulf Edition. He will be your guide through one of history’s most influential stories, and show you how they fought with swords – and you’ll even learn to speak some Old English! Eart þū gearu tō leornianne and dracan feohtan?! (Are you ready to learn and fight dragons?!)
