Overview
Our goal is to use a structured environment to build good study habits in your son (thereby reversing the Summer “un-learning” process that many students struggle against). We begin the program by identifying your son’s academic strengths and weaknesses. We then develop a concrete action plan that plays to his strengths and supports his weaknesses.
Why Back to School Bootcamp?
To get your son ready to do his best next school year, Back to School Bootcamp has two parts: Study Skills, and Content Instruction. Each day of camp, boys not only learn best practices for essential study skills, they also deploy these new skills by reviewing a number of academic subjects. Study Skills and Content Instruction includes:
Study Skills
- Executive Functionings
- Types of Learners
- Note-Taking
- Annotating
- Test Taking
Core Content
- Thesis & Outlining
- Grammar
- Order of Operations
- Fractions
