Basketball: Shot Builder

Category: Athletics

Overview

Does your son want to learn the finer points of the lay-up, free throw, pull-up jumper, and 3-pointer? In the Basketball Shot Builder camp, boys learn Northridge’s “Simplified Shooting Method,” as taught by Northridge Head Coach Will Rey (a former NCAA Division 1 coach with 41 years of experience). Coach Rey’s proven method is behind many team and individual shooting records at both the High School and College level.

Why Basketball Shot Builder?

Our philosophy is players “Learn Best by Doing.” Maintaining a high energy level on the court, players will practice key shooting skills in game-like scenarios at camp. And to help campers build on-court awareness, the camp includes instruction using video analysis of campers’ shooting form. Campers will also receive an individualized shot improvement program, a 2022 Camp T-shirt, and a Northridge Basketball Handbook.

Skills and drills covered at camp include:

  • Competitive Shooting Games
  • Simulated Game Situations
  • Personalized Shooting Form Analysis
  • Shooting Footwork, Grip & Release
  • Shooting Off Dribble
  • Strong Side & Crossover Moves
  • Lay-up breakdown from Both Sides
  • Footwork & Ball Protection

Camp Counselors

Camp Counselors will be members of the Northridge Basketball program: Assistant Coaches and senior members of the Varsity Basketball squad. They are hardworking, knowledgeable, and carefully selected for their attentiveness to young players.
